Of late, the ongoing global pandemic is creating havoc in the lives of all. It’s been months of living a life of isolation, social distancing and sheer uncertainty. Face covers, masks, gloves, sanitizers, etc. sums up our new reality. While witnessing the condition of China via news or social media, little did anyone imagine it to be the entire world’s destiny. China failed to contain the coronavirus. Slowly it spread like wildfire in every part of the world, affecting everyone and everything, both directly and indirectly.

Lockdown Lives
It’s astounding how things can drastically change in the wink of an eye. A few days ago, we were living our regular life, busy with the daily routines. One fateful day the respective authorities called for a complete lockdown, and that was beginning of it all. Life got confined to the four walls of homes, and all social or outdoor activities wholly banned. The only connection left with the rest of the world is through electronic devices. Today we are fighting all our fears and insecurities together, but alone.

Empty Streets, Distant Sirens And Looming Fear
The otherwise crowded streets seem to have forgotten its everyday hustle and bustle. The small shops, the open eateries, the usual noisy traffic, the lights, the people- everything vanished. The only noise traceable now is that of the ambulance siren. The red siren blows on the streets like a melancholy tune making even the strongest of hearts sink in fear. Another victim, a new containment zone and more restrictions- are the lyrics of the tune. Calm whispers of prayers and positivity rise from each heart to combat the difficult times.
Away From People, Closer To Self
Social distancing is the new mantra of our lives. No more hanging out with friends or partying on weekends. With all forms of entertainment restricted, the best way to survive this global pandemic is spending quality time with ‘self’. People are indulging themselves in various indoor activities and leisure. Cooking, gardening, reading, watching movies, etc. are some of them. The lockdown has been an opportunity to come in terms with your older self. No doubt times are changing and challenging, but isn’t change the only constant aspect of life? The best way to survive such times of crisis is by building a positive attitude. With so much of misery all around its time to be grateful for all the things you have.

Do Your Part
The frontline warriors: doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, police, sweepers, cleaners, etc. are performing their assigned duties with utmost dedication. As a common man, all we need to do is abide by the laws and take all necessary precautions and care. As we sit in the comforts of our homes, let us not forget about the poor and needy. For instance, a daily wage earner is undoubtedly having a tough time supporting his family because of the lack of work. As human beings let’s be emphatic towards each other, work together and win the battle against coronavirus.
Hoping and wishing for better times ahead! 🙂
